   Preschool Gymnastics

Does your preschooler LOVE to climb, flip and explore???
Come on over and let us help build their confidence and spacial awareness through play. Our little dippers program focuses on building strength and confidence and build them up to get ready for our Super Stars recreational classes.
As an introduction to gymnastics, Star Center offers a range of special motor skills classes with a clear emphasis on the joy of movement. Our little and big Dippers preschool program is designed to encourage whole body exercise, including development in strength, flexibility, and coordination. Classes are structured, but not rigid so that children can channel their physical energy, while learning to socialize with other students in a safe and fun environment.
Star Center's  preschool gymnastics classes feature weekly themes to stimulate imaginative play and exercise. Our staff, skilled in both gymnastics and child development, begin each class with an opening activity designed to facilitate participation and creative movement. Following the opening activity, our instructors lead the class into "circle time" for some focused gymnastics instruction. Here our gymnasts learn the gymnastics positions, follow the instructor's specific directions, and stretch their muscles through a series of theme-related games. Once their muscles are warm, the instructors assist their classes through a series of obstacle courses. Each obstacle course provides a variety of motor skills exercises and gymnastics skills for the class to work through and master. Our preschool classes end with a fun and challenging closing activity, like parachute, rhythmic ribbons or trampoline.

   Recreational Gymnastics

Developed by USA Gymnastics, the national governing body of the sport of gymnastics and are designed to help children progress in a safe, fun and systemized manner that builds character and self-confidence, every step of the way.

Our Philosophy:
It is essential that  students and their parents understand that our staff is not here to simply "spot" students or "do the work" for them. Students must be willing to put in the effort with conditioning, flexibility and skill drills.

It is essential that students work on their core strength in and out of the gym. This will enable them to eventually master the skills themselves. Through our progressive lesson plans, students condition and train up to each skill. The coach will decide when a student is ready to attempt a skill (with supervision). The coach also decides when a student is ready for the next level.

Girls recreational gymnastics class skills stations include:
balance beam, bars, vault, and TumblTrak™.

Boys recreational gymnastics class stations include:
parallel bars, vault, still rings, pommel horse, high bar and TumblTrak™

   Team

Placement on a Star Center Team is by invitation only. All gymnasts must be evaluated by a Team Coach and offered an appropriate placement for their child’s skill level.
